Double piston continuous screen changer for plastic extrusion machine

How to work
The double piston Screen Changer allows for filtration of most all polymers without interrupting production during a screen change. The Screen Changer consists of two pistons with each containing a filter cavity. When a screen change is required, one of the pistons is moved out of the housing while the other remains in the operating position. The dirty screen pack is removed and replaced with a new one. The piston is then moved back into the housing to its venting stages before resuming operation. These steps are then repeated for the other piston. This concept allows for continuous filtration with no interruption or loss of production.
Structure and working principle
The double pillar type double working station screen changer is suitable for a wide range of polymers with different production processing, and without disturbing production when changing the screen.
The structure of this kind of screen changer: There are two plungers on the main body of the screen changer, with a screen pack cavity on each plunger.
1, when the screen changer is working, the two screen packs in the cavity are on the working positions,
2, when it's time to change the blocked screen pack, one of the pistons is pushed out of the main body of the screen changer by hydraulic power. While the other one remains on the operating position.
3, The blocked screen pack is removed and replaced with a fresh one, the piston is then pushed back into the main body of the screen changer, and the air venting system begins to work at the same time with this process.
4, the above steps are then repeated for the other piston.
The whole screen changing process allow for continuous filtration without disturbing melt flow and production process.
